Our Commitment to the Coffs Coast Community
We believe being part of a community means contributing to it.
For more than three decades, members of the Bryant McKinnon Lawyers team have supported local organisations, initiatives and programs that help make the Coffs Coast a stronger, more connected and vibrant place to live.
Our involvement goes beyond financial sponsorship. We also give our time, experience and personal support to organisations and activities that contribute to the cultural, educational and sporting life of our region.
We are proud to support local organisations including Coffs Harbour Regional Gallery Friends, Young Actors Studio, local school mock trial and mediation programs, Orara Valley Hockey Team, and the Coffs Harbour and District Hockey Association.
The Coffs Coast is our community, and we are proud to play an active role in its future.
Bryant McKinnon Lawyers is proud to support Yarrila Arts and Museum (YAM), an important cultural hub for the Coffs Coast. Our support has included sponsorship of STILL: National Still Life Award, YAM’s biennial acquisitive art award celebrating contemporary approaches to still life by artists from across Australia. We have also supported the development of the STILL Education Resource, created to help teachers and students engage with the exhibition and explore art in the classroom. We believe access to arts and culture enriches our community, encourages creativity and provides valuable opportunities for people of all ages to see the world from new perspectives.
We are proud supporters of the Bellingen Readers & Writers Festival, an annual celebration of books, ideas, creativity and conversation in the heart of Bellingen. Bringing together leading Australian voices, local talent, readers, writers and thinkers, the Festival has become an important part of the cultural calendar of our region. Its program extends beyond the main festival to include community activities, fringe events and opportunities for young people through its Schools Program. Bryant McKinnon Lawyers is delighted to support an event that encourages curiosity, conversation and a lifelong love of reading and storytelling while bringing locals and visitors together in our community.
Bryant McKinnon Lawyers is proud to support ArtsNational Coffs Coast, a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation bringing engaging arts education and cultural experiences to our region. Through a program of illustrated talks presented by knowledgeable regional, national and international speakers, ArtsNational gives local audiences the opportunity to explore art, architecture, design, history and culture in an accessible and welcoming setting. The organisation also creates valuable opportunities for people to connect through a shared interest in the arts. Supporting ArtsNational reflects our belief that thriving regional communities need opportunities to learn, exchange ideas, experience culture and continue discovering new perspectives throughout life.
Our contribution to the community is not limited to financial sponsorship. Members of the Bryant McKinnon Lawyers team have also given their time and professional experience to help local schools participating in the Law Society of NSW Mock Trial and Mock Mediation Competitions. These programs give students practical insight into the legal system while developing valuable skills in communication, advocacy, problem-solving, negotiation and conflict resolution. Mock Trial introduces students to courtroom processes, while Mock Mediation explores collaborative approaches to resolving disputes. We enjoy helping young people build their confidence, broaden their understanding of the law and experience skills that can serve them well beyond the classroom.
Sport plays an important role in bringing communities together, keeping people active and helping young people develop teamwork, resilience and confidence. Bryant McKinnon Lawyers is proud to support local hockey through sponsorship of Orara Valley Hockey Club and Hockey Coffs Coast. Hockey Coffs Coast provides opportunities for players across the region, from young children discovering the game through to senior and representative-level participants, with an emphasis on an inclusive and family-oriented sporting community. Supporting local hockey is another way we can contribute to the community in which we live and work, helping local clubs continue to provide opportunities for people of different ages and abilities to participate and belong.
